Tips for Silverware Care.
- Clean silver products after use with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Use only a mild detergent.
- Windsor silverware should be cleaned by hand and polished with a soft cloth.
- The Silver polishing cloth and mit are made of high quality cotton, impregnated with a silver cleaner and anti tarnish agent. Use this cloth weekly or on lightly tarnished silver products to obtain a brilliant shine and protection against rapid tarnishing.
- For products with more extensive tarnishing, use the Silver paste. Dampen the sponge with water, dip it into the paste, covering the sponge with a small amount of paste. Rub all over the product using gentle circular movements rather than rubbing roughly.
- Rinse under clean, warm running water. Repeat the above until the tarnishing has been removed. Remember to rinse thoroughly to remove all the paste
- Leave to drip dry.
- When dry, gently polish to a high shine with a soft cloth or the impregnated cleaning cloth.
- For added protection use a clear silicone polish. Rub the clear polish over the entire surface of your product. Polish to a high shine with a soft cloth.
- Keep the town talk impregnated polishing cloth in a sealed plastic bag in order to prolong it’s effectiveness.
- Never, never use any abrasive cloths, wire wool, sponges with rough surfaces to clean silver. You will scratch your product permanently.
- Do not use cleaning agents that have corrosive chemicals in them. Do not use bleach or ‘old wives tale’ remedies!
- Never wash the Silver Polishing! It will turn black but will remain effective.
