CD The Essential South African Jazz

All of these songs have been carefully selected, reinterpreted and re-recorded especially for this compilation. A band was assembled comprising of some of South Africa's most eminent jazz musicians such as pianist Paul Hanmer and acoustic guitarist Greg Georgiades. Producer Andre Abrahamse, one of South Africa's finest composers, producers, arrangers and bass guitarists was brought in. Abrahamse brought to the project his wealth of experience gained as a live performer and session musician in Europe and the UK and his expertise as a producer of much South African jazz. He has worked with a number of world-renowned African musicians, including the likes of Fela Kuti.
